FAQs

Why do I need a driving instructor instead of just a regular experienced driver?
Driving with a driving instructor ensures you’re in a safe environment to learn the required skills as each car is fitted with safety controls, allowing you to build your confidence on the road without causing any injury. We’ll give you the necessary knowledge, skills and driving habits needed to attain your license and become a safe, competent driver on our roads. Driving instructors are trained and have the knowledge of the latest road rules and regulations. Driving with other experienced drivers can build on the knowledge you gain from a professional driving instructor.

How many lessons are required to obtain my license?
There are no specific number of lessons or hours of practice that can ensure you’re a good and safe driver. All students learn at their own individual pace. However, to successfully obtain your license, there is a minimum of 120 hours that students must undertake and record in a log book. This is mandatory for new students under 21 years of age and who have received their learner’s permit after 1 July 2007.

What duration are each lesson?
We provide driving lessons for 45 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes which usually start and end at mutually agreed place like the students home, work or school. Lessons of 45 minutes can be good for drivers who have already built up some experience or have already taken longer lessons. 60 minute lessons are ideal for beginners. 90 minute lessons allow the instructor to take the student to different locations where other, more critical scenarios and road conditions may be experienced. 90 minute lessons also allow for the student to become more comfortable as time moves on and generally this is the more optimum way to learn.

Should I go for an Automatic or Manual  license?
I can be easier for some people to learn in an automatic car. Because there is no clutch and gears to worry about, students can fully concentrate on the other driving skills required. However if you obtain an automatic vehicle license, you will not be licensed to drive a manual car until your probationary period has expired. We can also advise you during your first lesson after we make an assessment of your initial skills.
